I am a UK-trained Clinical Psychologist with over fifteen years of experience working across NHS and independent settings. During my career, I have worked across a range of specialist mental health services with adults, children, adolescents and families. I currently divide my professional work between my independent practice in Amsterdam and my role as a Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist within the UK National Health Service.

My approach
Clinical Psychologists are trained in a range of psychological models rather than a single therapeutic approach. My training and experience include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Narrative and Systemic approaches, and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).

I work integratively, drawing on different approaches according to the person I am working with and what they would like to change. An important part of my approach is developing a shared understanding of what may be contributing to current difficulties, rather than simply focusing on symptoms, and using this understanding to identify helpful ways forward.

Therapy does not always need to be long term. For some people, a small number of focused sessions can be helpful in understanding and addressing a particular difficulty, while for others longer-term work may be more appropriate. We can think together about what would be most useful and review this as therapy progresses. I take a neurodiversity-affirming approach and adapt therapy to individual strengths, needs and ways of processing and communicating.

Working with systems and organisations
Alongside my clinical work with individuals and families, I have extensive experience working with wider systems, professional teams and organisations. I provide psychological consultation and clinical supervision, as well as CPD and training for professionals on a range of topics related to mental health and wellbeing.
